Multi-institution agreements (ARC and NHMRC)

Where the University collaborates on projects funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC) and National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), the involvement of the University and other institutions needs to be defined by a Multi-institution Agreement.  Agreements should be finalised with collaborating institutions even when funds are not being transferred between the organizations. Standard agreement templates are being made available for use within the Group of Eight (Go8) Universities (see above). They will be posted here as they are released.

Exceptions

When ARC Linkage Project grants are awarded, MRO negotiates Linkage Agreements with Partner Organisations.  MRO will also take the lead in negotiating the involvement of other institutions collaborating in the project.  Chief Investigators will be asked to provide details of any shared funding and any other important negotiating matters.

When a Go8 University is not the administering institution the Multi-institution Agreement may not be based on the standard template.  In this case it is even more important that the agreement is reviewed by MRO.
