Cooperative Research Centre Program - 2010 and beyond
In early 2009, the Australian Government announced its revitalised CRC program. The new CRC program:
- Brings back public good CRCs, including Humanities and Social Sciences based CRCs
- Focuses on research utilisation not just research commercialisation
- Requires a broader education and training program
- Requires a strategy for Small to Medium Enterprise engagement
- Allows a flexible model of participation
- Treats cash and in-kind equally
In December 2008 a new model for the oversight of CRC proposal development and submission at the University of Melbourne was circulated and slides from an associated workshop to discuss this process are available.
On 30 September 2009 a workshop was held to discuss the implementation of the new model and handouts from this session are available to researchers interested in developing a CRC proposal.
