- The ARC Linkage International Program provides funds for Australia-based researchers to participate in joint research projects with overseas researchers, establishing new collaborations and strengthening ongoing collaborations that build links among researchers, research teams and/or centres of research excellence in Australia and overseas.

National Health & Medical Research Council (NHMRC)
- The NHMRC Australian-European Union Health Research Grants is a limited fund to assist Australian participation in projects selected for funding under the European Commission's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) that are relevant to the National Health and Medical Research Council. Australian researchers must be part of the original application submitted to the European Commission.

Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research (DIISR)
- DIISR International Science Linkages
Supports Australian scientists, from both the public and private sectors, to collaborate with international partners on leading edge science and technology in order to contribute to Australia’s economic, social and environmental wellbeing. Schemes include Competitive Grants (Australian recipients of EU-FP7 are eligible to apply to apply for this funding), the Australia-China Special Fund for Science and Technology Cooperation, French-Australian Science and Technology Program (FAST), and the Science Academies Program.

- DIISR Australia-India Strategic Research Fund (AISRF)
The AISRF program aims to facilitate and support Science and Technology research cooperation between Australia and India. The fund will assist Australian researchers to increase their participation in leading edge scientific research with Indian scientists, to raise the profile of Australian research, and to support the development of strategic alliances between Australian researchers and Indian researchers.

- DEEWR Endeavour Awards
The Australian Government's internationally competitive, merit-based scholarship program providing opportunities for citizens of the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions to undertake study, research and professional development in Australia. Awards are also available for Australians to do the same abroad. A smaller number of awards are available for participants from Europe and the Americas.

- Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR)
Foreign Affairs and Trade centre that supports Australian researchers working with overseas agricultural researchers on issues of common concern. The major focus is to support research that contributes to sustainable agricultural development in the Asia-Pacific region.

Assists projects which will further National Commission and UNESCO priorities and objectives. Grants applications should be in the order of $2,000 to $30,000.

State Government Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research
- Victoria Fellowships
The Victorian Government annually awards up to six Victoria Fellowships to emerging leaders in engineering, science or technology. Each Fellow receives a travel grant of up to $18,000 to undertake a short-term overseas study mission to assist in developing a commercial idea, undertaking specialist training or career development.
