Make sure you receive information on funding relevant to your discipline and career needs. Use the recommended funding databases to set up email notifications based on personal research profiles.

Database:
Community of Science (COS)
Description:
COS is an international database of funding opportunities, covering grants, scholarships, awards, and fellowships. The name COS is slightly misleading as the database covers all areas (Humanities, Engineering, Medicine etc).

Search tips:
  • Go to http://login.cos.com/ and select Join in left-hand menu, and Join again on the next page.
  • Enter required information and select University of Melbourne from Institution List.
  • Complete and agree to your registration then click Launch My COS Workbench Now.
  • From the workbench select Search COS Funding Opportunities.
  • Enter your search criteria and execute, name and save the search.
  • Select Yes to receive email alerts based on this search.

ResearchResearch
Description:
ResearchResearch is a comprehensive database of national and international funding opportunities that are only available to Australian researchers. The website also provides expert advice on writing research proposals.

Search tips:
  • Sign in: If you already have a ResearchProfessional account, enter your username and password.
  • Register: If you don't yet have a personal account, follow the on screen instructions to set one up. You can only do this if you are accessing the site from on campus)
  • Campus access: Of you are using a computer physically located at your institution, you can access ResearchProfessional without signing in to a personal account.

JASON: the Postgraduate Scholarship Database for Australia
Description:
JASON is a database for postgraduate scholarships, helping Australian students who want to study at home or abroad. It advertises funding for full postgraduate qualifications and for research projects within current study.

Search tips:
  • Click on Subscribe and enter a student profile. You will be automatically notified when scholarships that match your search criteria are entered into the database.
  • You can also click New Scholarships to discover the latest 10 scholarships to be added to the JASON system.
