Subcontracts
When you conduct research which requires the assistance of an external party to perform part of the work, you will need to subcontract the external company. You must read your original contract to make sure it allows you to subcontract the work. Entering into a subcontract will require the establishment of various legal safeguards, such as confidentiality and IP ownership.All subcontracts must be submitted to the Research Office as Deans and Heads are not authorised to sign these agreements on behalf of the University. To submit the documentation, see our page Completing the Forms. As funds are being withdrawn from your existing budget, a Budget Form is NOT required.
