Citation data: research publications
Researcher level data
Individual researchers wanting their own citations data should use the Thomson ISI Web of Science, available through the Library website. The database shows the number of times a particular work has been cited in journal articles.Institution level data
University Science Indicators (USI) for Australia, Canada, U.K. and the U.S.A. is a database containing summary statistics on publications and citation performance, aggregated at an institutional level. It indexes around 8,000 peer reviewed journals across all the disciplines (see list of USI journals), with individual papers divided into research fields based on the journal in which the paper appeared. The database counts articles, notes, reviews and proceeding papers. Papers are attributed to an institution if the paper has at least one author address of that institution.
How to request USI data
University departments may request the number of papers, number of citations, and the citation impact in 5 year overlapping periods (i.e. paper counts and citation counts for those same papers in the same 5 year period).- USI data request form (xls, 75kb)
